Marriage

With the widespread uncertainty and confusion in our culture regarding the subject of marriage and what constitutes a God honoring union between a man and a woman, it is important that we clearly state what we believe God desires and requires in marriage. We believe and teach that man and woman were created in God’s image, equal before God as persons and distinct in their manhood and womanhood. We believe and teach that there are distinctions in masculine and feminine roles in marriage as ordained by God as part of His created order and that the marriage was instituted to be exclusively between a man and a woman. We believe and teach that any societal distortion of God’s created design for marriage is a sin and the result of sin. We believe and teach that in all of life Christ is the supreme authority and guide for men and women and that no civil authority can mandate them to follow a human authority into sin. We believe that any union that violates God’s design for marriage (i.e. homosexuality of any kind) is sinful and unacceptable within marriage & His body, the Church.
